Wood hibiscus

The flowers change colour through the afternoon, which is why an old name for this shrub is changeable hibiscus. In a pot the whole performance depends on whether you keep water up through August.

The method is simple and the patience requirement is the part people underestimate: three to four weeks to callus, then a season of pot-grown seedling before it goes into the border.
